My Review:

I was sent a free copy of You Rule!: A Practical Guide to Creating Your Own Kingdom (Lonely Planet Kids) by Lonely Planet Kids for free in exchange only for my honest and unbiased review of You Rule!: A Practical Guide to Creating Your Own Kingdom (Lonely Planet Kids) by Lonely Planet Kids.

I was amazed by this book it was the absolute perfect blend of history with child interest factors. The book teaches children history, but it is sneaky about it. The reader is learning history as he or she reads, but the reader is not really aware that they are learning history because it is not a dry textbook, but instead filled with interesting facts.

The book takes the view point of teaching the reader how to rule their own kingdom whether their kingdom is their bedroom, house, or their own country. It then relates history to the decision that the reader would need to make about his or her kingdom. It draws its histories from many cultures not just America or Europe, but from the entire world.

This book is truly the perfect book to give to a child to get him or her interested in history. The book is perfect for getting a child to develop an interest in history because lets face it the book is interesting and fun not dry and boring like most history books.
